DALLAS - Attorneys representing Kewon White, convicted of the murder of Dallas rapper MO3, are seeking to have his verdict overturned due to issues with a juror.

DALLAS – Attorneys representing Kewon White, convicted of the murder of Dallas rapper MO3, are seeking to have his verdict overturned due to issues with a juror. They have filed a motion claiming that one juror was repeatedly observed sleeping during key portions of the trial held in September.
The motion alleges that the juror’s sleeping disrupted White’s right to a fair trial by a jury. It was noted that this juror was seen slumping over regularly and nodding off, even after breaks were given to alleviate the situation. Despite concerns raised by both the defense and prosecution to Judge Chika Anyiam, the juror continued to sleep during important testimonies. The outcome of the motion remains uncertain as Judge Anyiam has 75 days to respond, with options ranging from granting to denying the request.
