Kellye Hollis, who previously ran an estate sale business in Dallas, embarked on a significant journey by relocating to New York City. She captured her new surroundings with daily photographs, a project she called “Shot of the Day,” which ultimately inspired her to create a book documenting her experiences during her first year in the city.
Titled 4,380,000 Steps: An Accidental Photo Journal of NYC, the book features a collection of her photos and has gained popularity, prompting Hollis to hold a book-signing event on October 15 at The Ivy Tavern in Dallas. Although hardback editions have sold out, there may be limited paperbound copies available. Aiming to keep friends and family connected, Hollis began sharing her daily snapshots nine days after arriving in NYC, recording her average of over 12,000 daily steps.
