Experts from Houzz have released insights on contemporary bathroom renovation trends for homeowners in Dallas who are looking to transform outdated spaces into personal sanctuaries. According to the “2026 U.S. Houzz Bathroom Trends Study,” which involved over 1,600 homeowners either undergoing or having recently completed renovations, a strong emphasis on self-care emerged. Marine Sargsyan, the head of economic research at Houzz, noted, “Homeowners want their bathrooms to work harder for them to support both daily routines and self-care,” highlighting a rebound in median spending to $15,000, with a notable increase in shower sizes.
The study found that while most bathrooms maintain their size post-renovation, self-care remains a priority. Nearly half of the respondents reported spending more time in their renovated spaces for relaxation and grooming activities. The majority of homeowners, about 90%, opted to engage professionals for their renovation projects, alleviating some stress associated with DIY methods. Popular upgrades included custom cabinetry, accented walls, and specialty features like bidet toilet seats and mirrors with adjustable lighting, reflecting a broader trend towards personalized and accessible bathrooms.
