Brooke Angel Launches Map of North Dallas LGBTQ+ Spaces

Brooke Angel’s initiative, the North Dallas Queer-Friendly Spots project, aims to shed light on LGBTQ+ friendly venues beyond the well-known Oak Lawn area. Having spent time in North Dallas and feeling out of place, Angel recognized a need for more accessible queer spaces.

After using the Everywhere is Queer app with little success in finding local spots, she turned to her social media followers for suggestions, leading to a surge of responses and the creation of a map featuring over 60 queer-friendly locations. While still in its early stages, Angel emphasizes the necessity of community resources, cautioning users that not all spaces have been verified. Her project not only enhances visibility for local queer venues but also connects her with the LGBTQ+ community.
