Ballot Overview for the Upcoming Election

Early voting for the election on November 3 starts on Monday, October 19.

Who is on the ballot?

Early voting for the election on November 3 starts on Monday, October 19. Voters can cast their ballots at any early voting location in their registered county, but there may be confusion for residents of Dallas living in neighboring counties like Collin, Denton, Kaufman, or Rockwall.

LGBTQ+ voters faced disappointment with Rep. Julie Johnson’s loss in her primary election. In the Texas Legislature, around ten LGBTQ state representatives and one state senator are up for re-election. Notably, State Rep. Jessica González is running unopposed for her fifth term, representing parts of Oak Cliff and Grand Prairie. State Rep. Venton Jones, the first out Black Texas legislator and openly HIV-positive member, is facing an opponent, Jordan Hoffnagle, for his district covering parts of Dallas.
