David Harvey, Former Southwest Airlines Executive, Takes the Helm at Ameriflight

Ameriflight, a cargo airline situated at Dallas Fort Worth International Airport, has announced the appointment of David Harvey, a former Southwest Airlines executive, as its new president and CEO. Harvey takes over the position previously held by Patrick Fluegeman, who left the company in July to assume the role of chief operating officer at Endeavor Air.

Jim Martell, the Chairman of Ameriflight, stated that Harvey possesses the aviation expertise, commercial discipline, and leadership required to enhance Ameriflight’s established foundation and propel the airline into its next growth phase. With decades of experience in the aviation sector, Harvey’s recent role was as an executive adviser for airlines and travel technology firms, alongside previous positions such as chief commercial officer at Wheels Up and chief sales officer at Southwest Airlines. Ameriflight, founded in 1968, boasts a workforce of over 500 and supports logistics with more than 750 weekly departures.
