‘Cleavage,’ a musical highlighting the journey of breast implants, is set to open at Theatre Three this month. This production, defined by humor and depth, features contributions from writers Dr. Ron Friedman and Lauren Goodenow, along with notable local performer Lee Walter, who takes center stage as Dee Dee, the show’s narrator.

Dr. Friedman, a plastic surgeon with over 30 years of experience, conceived the idea for the musical after an empowering visit to see ‘Hamilton.’ The pairing of his medical background and songwriting led to the creation of around 30 songs, eventually evolving into a narrative that encompasses various perspectives, including those of breast cancer survivors and the trans community. Goodenow joined the project to help enrich the storytelling with relatable characters, crafting a balance of comedy and serious themes. The show, running from October 15 to November 1, promises an engaging experience that delves into the real stories behind breast augmentation.
