Jan Showers Marks 30 Years in Dallas Design

Jan Showers is celebrating an important milestone at her elegant showroom located on Slocum Street in Dallas’ Design District, which features a striking black lacquered door, boxwoods, and rooms infused with 1940s glamour.

When PaperCity launched its first Dallas edition in 1998, Showers was still perfecting her new space and played a significant role in offering support and advice. Initially entering the design field by chance after studying business at Texas Christian University, her first major project was her own three-story Colonial home in Hillsboro. The local elite quickly took notice, leading to her notable influence in the design scene.

Over the years, Showers has been featured extensively in various publications and has contributed to the Kips Bay Decorator Show House Dallas as a designer and co-chair. With her four books, including the recently released ‘The Glamorous House’, Showers continues to set benchmarks in the design world, celebrating her legacy as she marks this special anniversary.
