New pub The Irish Goodbye to open on Greenville Avenue in Dallas

A new pub named The Irish Goodbye is preparing to open at 1928 Greenville Ave. in Dallas, taking over the location previously held by Hide, which closed in March. This upcoming venue is a creation of One Esca Group, led by restaurateur Michael Kim, who also owns Blackfriar Pub. Kim, along with his operating partner Kevin Bartley, plans to initiate soft opening events within the week.

The Irish Goodbye aims to blend the charm of an elevated Irish pub with a sports bar feel. Drawing inspiration from sophisticated pubs in New York, Kim describes it as a classy venue that will attract a diverse crowd, including professionals and sports fans. This concept will mark the first one designed from scratch by Kim and Bartley, featuring a 3,700-square-foot interior, a rooftop patio between 2,000 and 2,500 square feet, and an additional front patio.

The layout will include 40 televisions and a complex audio-visual system tailored for various programming across areas. The menu, which is still being finalized, is expected to incorporate elements from Kim’s other restaurant, Sugarbacon Proper Kitchen, with ideas for weekend brunch included. Kim expresses an ambitious goal: to become a top choice for pubs in Dallas.
