State Fair of Texas gets even cheaper with free parking for one day only

The State Fair of Texas is providing an opportunity for savings this year with free parking available for one day only on Friday, October 9. A sponsorship by DraftKings will cover parking costs for visitors all day long, allowing attendees to save $25 per vehicle.

According to Mitchell Glieber, president of the State Fair of Texas, offering free parking marks a historic first. He emphasized the Fair’s commitment to making the event more accessible and affordable for attendees. The free parking will be on a first-come, first-served basis at official State Fair parking locations, which will open at 9:30 am. The admission gates will open at 10 am. To reach the parking lots, fairgoers are advised to take Exit 48A on I-30 and follow the provided signs. Guests should plan to arrive early, as the free parking is limited to available spaces.

October 9 is expected to be one of the busiest days at the Fair, coinciding with fall breaks for both Dallas and Fort Worth ISD, and the day prior to the Texas-Oklahoma football matchup. Students can still use their free tickets from school for any remaining days of the Fair, which runs until October 18 with additional discounts offered.
